Composition

Each 4500 mg vial contains:
Cefoperazone Sodium – 4000 mg
Tazobactam Sodium – 500 mg

Indication:

• Mastitis
• Metritis
• The Synergestic combination of Tazobactum and Cefoperazone 
  is active against all organisms sensitive to Cefoperazone.
• 4 fold Reduction in MIC (up to fourfold reduction in minimum
  inhibitory concentrations for the combination versus those
  for each component) in a variety of organisms, most markedly
  the following:

• Lethal synergistic combination of Cefoperazone & Tazobactum
• Cefoperazone is a third generation, FDA approved cephalosporin for use in dairy animals
• Tazobactum is an irreversible B lactamase inhibitor
• Broad spectrum of bactericidal activity covering both Gram –ve & Gram +Ve  organisms
• 3 times more potent than other 3rd generation Cephalosporins against  Pseudomonas
• Inhibits bacteria cell wall synthesis  of  actively dividing cells by. binding to penicillin .binding proteins\ (PBPs
• Plasma concentration peaks 30 minutes after injection
• Wider distribution in body than penicillins
• Generally very safe and relatively nontoxic

DOSE:

5–10 mg Cefoperazone/Kg B.W by I/M, l/V route
