V–Meg is one of the most potent inhibitors of COX.

Composition :

Each ml contains
Flunixin Meglumine USP
Equivalent to Flunixin……………………………..50 mg
Phenol I.P. (As preservative)……………………0.5 % w/v
Water for Injection I.P…………………………….q.s

Mechanism of action of V Meg :

Flunixin is a potent cyclo–oxygenase inhibitor
that is used effectively as an anti
inflammatory drug in large herbivores such
as cattle and horses.
The cyclo–oxygenase inhibitory properties of
flunixin could be useful in the treatment of
enterotoxaemia.

Indications :

For short–term treatment of moderate pain and inflammation.
As an adjunctive treatment, with antibiotics, for treatment of inflammatory Bovine Respiratory
Disease and pyrexia associated with Mastitis, Metritis, Pneumonia & Endotoxemia.
For the treatment of colic and other Gl diseases.
Protection from endotoxemia associated with acute laminitis, colitis and septic metritis.
Choice of drug in the initial treatment of tendonitis and many musculosketetal injuries.
Used to treat painful conditions of the eye including corneal ulcers, uveitis and conjunctivitis.
In Post–operative care & treatment.

Withdrawal Period:

Meat : Horses and cattle 7 days and Pigs 24 days
following treatment.
Milk: 36 hours following treatment.

Dose :

Cattle – 2.2 mg/kg or 2ml/45kg B.wt.
Horse – 1.1 mg/kg or 1ml/45kg B.wt

Presentation : 20 ml & 100 ml
