Mode of Action

Ceftiofur acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to bacterial cell death. It shows high resistance to degradation by beta-lactamases produced by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Indications / Uses

Cattle & Buffalo

• Bovine respiratory disease (shipping fever, pneumonia)

• Acute interdigital necrobacillosis

• Post-partum uterine infections including metritis, pyometra, vaginitis, cervicitis

• Retention of placenta

• Bacterial pneumonia

Sheep & Goat

• Respiratory infections (pneumonia) associated with Pasteurella species

Dosage & Administration

Shake well before use

Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep & Goat

• Post-Partum Metritis:
  2.2 ml per 50 kg body weight
  IM or SC route
  Once daily for 3–5 days

• Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD):
  2.2 ml per 50 kg body weight
  IM or SC route
  Administer every alternate day for 3 doses (48-hour interval)

• Do not inject more than 15 ml per injection site

• Dosage and duration as per veterinarian’s recommendation
